Halloween - Some Great Freaky Ideas

Halloween is that fun once a year occasion when you are allowed to go out to scare people. It has become a yearly custom that the whole family can become involved in. Scaring and being scared is the best part of Halloween fun. I'm sure that you have noticed that people are getting more and more creative in finding fun and different Halloween ideas. Some people even create freaky decors and halloween looking foods. Do you want to frighten your friends and visitors this Halloween? It is even possible to do it on a budget. Here are some easy yet practical and effective ideas for some Halloween fun.

By using different colored paper plates, you can make different scary masks. You only need to cut the eyes and the mouths. Use staples to properly attach rubber bands or string so you can keep your mask on. You can use scissors and orange painted paper to create pumpkin pictures if you want. If you make them small, you can paste them onto your mask. If you prefer witches or cats, just use black paper to cut them out. You are only limited by your imagination. Jazz your masks and pictures up with glitter, yarn, fabric, and glue. Make it a family treat by having the kids help you.

You can create a scarecrow for your front garden by stuffing old clothes or newspapers into a pair of mom's old pantyhose. They are easy to use and you can paint them to make them look more realistic. Why not try using a balloon with some yarn stuck on it for a head. The yarn can be the hair and you can paint or draw the face with textas. Then just find an old belt and hat to finish off your scarecrow.

Many children love to help in the kitchen so why don't you get them to help you make some halloween cupcakes and cookies. Use food coloring to make black icing. Then you can use white or red icing to make scary faces. You can vary this with using licorice and smarties on the cookies. If you have cookie cutters, you can make some wonderful shapes. Use your children's imagination to come up with even more ideas. Children's imagination are fantastic and you'll love what they will come up with. The time you could spend with your kids in doing this activity would even make all the more fun for everyone. Remember to have fun and enjoy all the Halloween decorations and treats you create together.

Have you thought of turning other foods into instant Halloween hits? Use food coloring to spice up and change things. Change some custard into a green slime or make red pancakes. I've heard that orange cookies are really popular at halloween. And I'm sure you can think of some amazing things you could do with Jell-O to make it have a hallloween theme.

Make some mini hotdogs by wrapping them in pastry and baking them. Then use ketchup or mustard to draw eyes and mouth. Anything goes at halloween so you can add different flavors. Try having slices of banana with pea pupils as eyes, a carrot nose and a slice of apple as the mouth. Dress it up with some lettuce hair and you'll have an amazing mini hotdog. The kids will love it and I'm sure you'll all have a wonderful Halloween.
